Yendi Amira Phillipps, born on September 8, 1985, first gained widespread recognition when she was crowned Miss Jamaica World in 2007. This marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that would later see her representing Jamaica at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant, where she secured the first runner-up position. Yendi's excellence was evident as she excelled in various fast-track events, making Miss World history by being the first contestant to place in all of the listed categories.

Miss Universe 2010 showcased Yendi's prowess, where she was crowned Miss Jamaica Universe, scoring the highest in the swimsuit round and securing the second position in the evening gown segment. Despite an outstanding performance, she finished as the first runner-up, leaving an indelible mark as one of only nine former Miss World semifinalists to place in the Miss Universe semifinals.

In September 2012, Yendi welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Israel. Fast forward to November 2023, and Yendi now married to businessman Omar McFarlane and they joyously announced the birth of their son, marking the arrival of their first child together.
